Whether you come from a Lutheran or non-Lutheran background, all individuals who may be interested in exploring membership at First Evangelical Lutheran Church (FELC) are invited to participate in our “New Member Orientation” forum facilitated by our Pastor. Lasting 90 minutes and held in the Pastor’s office, these interactive sessions are scheduled upon request or on an as-needed basis at a time convenient to all. Child care can be provided if requested in advance. Please call the Church Office or Pastor if you would like to participate in a “New Member Orientation” forum.
The content of these orientation sessions includes:
- Self-introductions so that we can get to know one another better
- Learning more about the history, ministries, affiliations and partnerships of First Evangelical Lutheran Church
- Receiving an overview of some basic Lutheran understandings and beliefs as well as information on how FELC is related to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
- Learning more about FELC’s ecumenical and interfaith relationships in the greater Poughkeepsie community, nationally, and globally
In the meantime, you don’t have to be a member to worship, to participate in The Lord’s Supper/Holy Communion, or to serve or participate in any ministry or activity of
First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Jump right in! We look forward to getting to know you!
